Fresh muffins, sweet potatoes and honey straws
are in abundance in the food desert that is UNC, as
defined by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The
student-run food co-op Sonder Market, set up here
outside the Campus Y, was founded to mitigate the
problem of at least a third of the campus population
living a mile or more from a grocery store.
