◆ Reid Garrett Hinson (’ 86 JD), 60, of Charlotte;
Dec. 20, 2016. As a seasoned trial lawyer and
partner in a Wilmington law firm, Hinson often
served as lead counsel in appeals in state and
federal courts. He relocated to a general practice
in Raleigh before joining the City Attorney’s Office
in 2005. He played bluegrass guitar and often
performed at festivals around the South. He
served as navigator on a destroyer in the Navy and
achieved the rank of lieutenant commander while
also earning his private pilot’s license.

MBA) of Hummelstown, Pa., has been named CEO
of Hershey, the first woman to head the company.
