The Erotica Empire of Beate Uhse, a study of a
female Luftwaffe pilot who became an erotica entrepreneur in post-war Germany. Heineman is an associate professor of history and director of graduate

Yakutis (’ 88 AB, ’ 91 MSIS) of Clover, S.C., has been
named principal of Humint Group International, a
new risk-remediation consultancy in Washington,
D.C. Yakutis serves on the board of the River
Hills/Lake Wylie Volunteer Rescue Squad, where he
was named Member of the Year for 2010 and
received the Citizenship Education Award.

Detroit; Aug. 4, 2011. Hambric practiced medicine
in Detroit for 20 years, most recently as part of
Positive Home Doctors. He was an ordained minister.

Hill; Aug. 11, 2011. Huggins was a physical therapist
for 18 years. He belonged to Sigma Chi at UNC.

MPH), 62, of Greenville; Aug. 28, 2011. Whitley was
an environmental health specialist and received
numerous awards for his work. He served in the
N.C. National Guard.
’ 92 Annika M. Brock (’ 92 AB) of Asheville has been named shareholder at McGuire, Wood & Bissette PA, where

Denise Jean Jamieson (’ 92, ’ 91 MPH) of Decatur,
Ga., has received a Distinguished Alumna Award
from UNC. Jamieson is a clinical professor of gynecology and obstetrics at Emory University School of
Medicine and a research team leader for unintended pregnancy, STD and HIV intervention at the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Her
research led to CDC and American Congress of
Obstetricians and Gynecologists guidelines for
implementing rapid HIV testing during labor and

gardener. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa at

’ 90 Samuel Robert Bagenstos (’ 90 AB) of Ann Arbor, Mich., has completed a two- year appointment as principal deputy
assistant general for civil rights in the U.S. Department of Justice. Bagenstos is a professor of law at
the University of Michigan, where he specializes in
civil rights law, public law and litigation. ◆ Julie
Ammons Dion (’ 90 ABJO) of Neptune Beach, Fla.,
was the keynote speaker at the 2011 Field Owners
Business Conference for field owners in tag sports.
Dion, who owns Dion Marketing, spoke on the market

Jason Lyon (’ 90 AB) of Pasadena, Calif., has received
a law degree from the UCLA School of Law. Lyon, a
Michael T. Mason Scholar and member of the Order
of the Coif while at UCLA, has joined Latham &

(’ 90 MAT, ’ 92 PhD) of Virginia Beach, Va., has been
elected to the executive committee of the board of
directors of the Virginia Association of Secondary
