Susan Maureen Bieber (’07 ABEd), 25, of New York;
May 1, 2011. Bieber, formerly of Greensboro, worked
in investor relations in the hedge fund industry. She
moved to New York after graduation to accept a dance
scholarship. She was a life member of Girl Scouts
and received its Gold Award, and she was active in
charitable work, especially through ZogSports, called
“play for a cause.” At UNC, she was in Pauper Players
and on the Dance Marathon committee. Her family
has established a scholarship in her memory at UNC.
’08 Anoop Manoj Desai (’08 AB) of Atlanta has released a second album, Zero.0, a collection of original songs. In an
unusual move to spread the word, Desai offered
free downloading of the album for a month prior to
the April 20 release date. ◆ Jake Southern Potter
(’08 ABJM) of Raleigh has been named an account
executive and social media strategist at MMI Public
Relations. ◆ Kayla McCall Tausche (’08 ABJM) of
New York has joined CNBC as a correspondent.
Tausche, who covers mergers, acquisitions and corporate finance, is the network’s youngest on-air

community health and urban development, from the
University of Illinois-Chicago. Messinger received the
Jane Addams College of Social Work Dean’s Award
