But who among us does not wish we
could have departed the campus, ducked
into the forest and emerged without stairs
or elevator at the top row, as football fans
did during Kenan’s infancy?
Here was the Alumni Review’s first
impression in 1927:
The plan of broad, winding approaches
through trees, the easy rise and fall of the walkways, are only preliminary to the manner in
which the gray, curving stands are themselves a
part of the slopes. The first view of them takes
