Truman McGill Hobbs Jr. (’ 80 AB) of Montgomery,
Ala., has been named to the UNC Board of Visitors
(2010-14). Hobbs serves as an Alabama Circuit Court
judge for the 15th Judicial District. u Paul Martin
Newby (’ 80 JD) of Raleigh traveled to Turkey as a delegate of the N.C. Bar Association to meet with leaders from all branches of the Turkish government, the
Turkish Bar Association and representatives of various political parties. Newby is a judge on the N.C.
Supreme Court.
’ 81 James Edwin Clement Jr. (’ 81, ’ 83 BSBA) of Greenville has been named to the UNC Board of Visitors (2010-14). Clement is
president and co-owner of The Clement Cos., insurance and employee benefits agency. u Bryant McKoy
Moore (’ 81, ’ 80 PhD) of Minnetonka, Minn., has
been named to the UNC Board of Visitors (2010-14).
Moore is vice president, external partnerships and
technology evaluation, with Medtronic Inc., a medical

Va.; July 16, 2010. Baird was a psychiatrist in private
practice and for the state of Virginia. u Bobby Ray
Summerline (’ 81 AB), 51, of Wilson; Aug. 7, 2010.
Summerline was a sales representative with Morton
Buildings. Previously, he worked with the Arts Council.
u Thomas Clark Weber (’ 81 AB), 50, of Coconut
Creek, Fla.; June 7, 2010. Weber spent much of his
post-college life in the Raleigh area and wrote Stories
in Stone, exploring the history of Umstead State Park
and the people who once lived there. The book will
be published posthumously.
’ 82 Jean Reynolds Page (’ 82 ABJO) of Mid- dleton, Wis., has published a novel, Leaving Before It’s Over. The novel
focuses on choices and the meaning of family. u
Thomas Jan Reddin (’ 82 BSBA) of Charlotte has
been elected to the board of directors for Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc. Reddin is the former CEO of
Lending Tree.com and owns Red Dog Ventures, a venture capital firm.

San Francisco has been named to the UNC Board
of Visitors (2010-14). McNeely is president of external affairs for AT&T of California. u Sonja Camille
Payton (’ 84 ABJO) of Greensboro has been selected
to chair the workers’ compensation section of the
N.C. Bar Association. Payton, a shareholder of Ward
Black Law, co-authored the Workers’ Compensation
Forms Manual. She will write a column for the bar
association’s quarterly newsletter, The Course and
Scope.
’ 85 Michael Louis Burnett (’ 85 AB) of Clemmons has been inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Burnett
was named ACC Player of the Year in 1981 and was
a three-time All-ACC team member. u Harry
McNamara Ford III (’ 85 AB) of Reisterstown, Md.,
has been inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of
Fame. Ford was All-American as well as All-ACC team
member in 1984 and 1985 and received the ACC
Player of the Year Award in 1985. u Dr. Michael
Lawrence Zollicoffer (’ 85 MD) of Baltimore has
been named to the UNC Board of Visitors (2010-14).
