Dentistry, a family and cosmetic dental practice. Picot
founded the UNC Malawi Dental Project to provide
free dental care and education on HIV/AIDS in Malawi.
He participates in Give Kids a Smile and bus den-
tistry and delivers free dentistry on a monthly basis at
the Charlotte Uptown Men’s Shelter. u Amanda Joy

public relations and outreach division head for the
Association for Applied Sport Psychology. Visek is an
assistant professor in the department of exercise sci-

Laura Caryne Dunlop (’02 MHA), 31, of Atlanta; Oct.
5, 2009. Dunlop was a lawyer who specialized in
health-care issues. Prior to earning her law degree,
she completed a two-year postgraduate fellowship in
health-care administration at Massachusetts General
Hospital.
’03 Amanda Greene Balwah (’03 AB) of Winston-Salem has received a master of arts degree in nonprofit management
from High Point University. Balwah is the administrative manager at the Kenan Institute for the Arts, UNC
School of the Arts. u Benji P. Cauthren (’03 ABJM)
of New York has left his position as assistant to the
director of development at the UNC School of Journalism to attend Cardozo School of Law. u Briana
Marie Corke (’03 ABEd) of Chapel Hill has received
the Outstanding Young Alumna Award from the UNC
School of Education. Corke, a fourth-grade teacher
and grade-level chair at Carrboro Elementary, was
2008-09 Teacher of the Year in the Carrboro-Chapel
