Tar Heels don’t just wear
their Carolina pride on
their sleeves, they also brandish it on their fingers.
Almost 100 students participated in the the GAA’s
Official Ring Ceremony in
November to receive their
new class rings, showing
them off immediatedly to
the more than 200 family
and friends who came to
share the special occasion.
Historian Fred Kiger ’ 74
filled them in on the symbolism of the rings and
GAA President Doug
Dibbert ’ 70 congratulated
the recipients.
Ringing True
Much like an
engagement ring,
the tiny shiny
objects bring so
many smiles to
many faces when
the class rings are
distributed and
students show
them off to friends
and family.
