Students
Across the Generations
More than 300 people representing more than 80 families participated in the
annual Legacy Pinning Ceremony in Gerrard Hall, held Oct. 4 during Family
Weekend. The event involved families in which a parent or grandparent of a current student also attended the University. The pinning gives the generations a
way to recognize a shared heritage and the connection they feel to Carolina.
GAA President Doug Dibbert ’ 70 addressed the families gathered Oct. 4 in Gerrard Hall for the Legacy Pinning
Ceremony. Top right, Lori Gignac ’ 83 and son Zachary Gignac, a freshman, look over the Legacy Oath. Lower right,
freshman Graham Mulvaney was joined by his mother, Dorothy Linster ’ 78, and sister, Shannon Mulvaney.
