Classes would start the next day, and students’ minds would start filling up with facts and figures and philosophies, but the night of the annual fall semester Sunset Serenade on Polk Place they were thinking only of going to Carolina In My Mind. The microphones for the lead singers on the Wilson Library steps went out during the song, but the multitude of voices in the audience knew the words and no amplification was needed.
