Jennifer Lisa Jones (’ 94 AB), 37, of Raleigh; Feb. 1,
2009. Jones was assistant principal at Middle Creek
High School in Cary from when the school opened
seven years ago. Previously, she taught at Goldsboro
High School and Garner Senior High School and was
assistant principal at Beddingfield High School in
Wilson. She was completing her doctorate in educational leadership at UNC at the time of her death.
Chapel Hill and his band, The High & Mighties, have
written a song, Chapel on the Hill, offering Chapel
Hill an unofficial town song. Proceeds from sales of
the anthem, played at UNC baseball games and
broadcast on WCHL, will be donated to the N.C. Children’s Promise charity, a project inspired by the
death of Belk’s younger brother. Story, page 56.

Beach has founded www.fabricwrapper.com. The
online business sells reusable gift-wrapping products
she designed, including cloth bags and cloth wrapping materials. Linda Sherck Rainey (’ 95 MA) of
Durham has been selected as a Robert G. Forman
Fellow by the Council of Alumni Association Executives (CAAE). Rainey will attend the 2009 CAAE winter and summer institutes and conduct a research
project that she will present at the 2009 Summer
Institute. Rainey is manager of alumni activities at
the GAA. Tim L. Sadenwasser (’ 95 MA, ’03 PhD)
of Augusta, Ga., has been named director of the honors program for Augusta State University. Sadenwasser is an associate professor in the English

’ 96 Capt. J. Calvin Cunningham III (’ 96 AB;
’00, ’99 JD) of Lexington has received
the Bronze Star for service in Iraq with
the Army Reserve. Cunningham, now back in practice with Kilpatrick Stockton, served as the senior
trial counsel in the office of the staff judge advocate,
Multi-National Corps – Iraq, at Camp Victory, presiding over the largest court-martial jurisdiction in the
Army. As student body president in 1995-96, Cunningham was an ex officio member of the GAA
Board of Directors. Scott Patrick Dill (’ 96 AB) of
Morrison, Colo., has been elected to membership in
the firm of Sherman & Howard LLC. Dill’s practice
focuses on general corporate matters, mergers and
acquisitions, and securities regulation and compliance in the business department of the Denver
office. George Mason Oliver (’ 96 AB, ’99 JD) of
New Bern has been certified as a specialist in business bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification and the N.C. Bar. Oliver is a lawyer with
