2008 Walter Payton Man of the Year by
the Tennessee Titans for his community service.
Among his activities, Thornton has hosted the David
Thornton Football Camp in Goldsboro, worked to promote the NFL’s What Moves U/Play 60 initiative in

Nashville and Goldsboro with a Thanksgiving meal.
