joined forces with Randel Galloway and
Mike Hoover to form Parker Brothers, in
memory of Lowe’s cousin Johnny Parker. The nonprofit helps young men through mentoring and education. Parker Brothers sponsored its first meeting in
August, taking 40 young men to UNC to watch the
Tar Heel football team play McNeese State. Scott
Anthony Ogle (’97 AB) of Durham has been promoted
to president of Sageworks Inc. The company works
with accounting firms, community banks and nonprofits to produce easy-to-understand financial reports.
Jerry Darnell Stackhouse (’97, ’ 99 AB) of Dallas,
Texas, presented a $50,000 check from his Triple
Threat Foundation to the Lenoir Memorial Foundation
to benefit the diabetes program at Lenoir Memorial
Hospital’s Minges Wellness Center in Kinston. The
program will be named in honor of his mother, Minnie
Stackhouse, who has diabetes. The donation will support an endowment to provide three nursing scholarships in honor of his two sisters who died of diabetes-related complications. A basketball player at UNC,
Stackhouse plays with the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA.
