Hall of Fame in Rocky Mount. Gibbons is

A Virtuous Woman. David Culver Keesler (’ 84 AB)
of Charlotte has been selected as the inaugural
recipient of the Charlotte Latin School Distinguished
Alumnus Award. Kessler serves as a U.S. magistrate
judge in Charlotte. Sam Perkins (’ 84 AB) of Indianapolis, a member of the 2000 NBA Finals team
for the Indiana Pacers, has been named the team’s
vice president of player relations. Perkins was
inducted into the New York City Basketball Hall of
Fame in 2008. Kathryn Ficklin Twiddy (’ 84 ABJO,
’ 89 JD) of Raleigh has been promoted to group vice
president, general counsel, development and services for Misys PLC.

Smith PA. Elliott is president and creative director of
Talk PR Inc. William Lofton Turner (’ 85 ABJO) of
Northfield, Minn., served as a member of the health
policy staff of Barack Obama’s Senate office. Turner
was on loan from the University of Minnesota, where
he is a professor of family therapy in the department
of family social science and director of the Center for
the Study of Families in Diverse Contexts. Turner was
the principal staffer in the drafting of the Stillbirth
and Sudden Unexpected Infant Death Act of 2008,
the Improving Food-borne Illness Surveillance and
Response Act of 2008 and the Autism Treatment
Acceleration Act of 2008.

cross-examination for the mock employment law trial
