AB) of Fayetteville hosted the second annual Harry Rulnick Open
Epee Tournament in 2007. Guevarra named
the tournament in honor of Harris Meisels
Rulnick (’ 43 BSCOM). Rulnick, who fenced
for UNC from 1939 to 1943, provided the
seed money and ongoing support for Guevarra
to develop the All-American Fencing Club.
Benjamin Michael Redding (’ 99 BSBA, ’06
MBA, ’06 JD) of Burlington has been named
managing director at Carrboro Capital. Working with two partners and a group of investors,
Redding is setting up a nontraditional private
equity fund in Chapel Hill.

’00 Jeremy Winslow Bray (’00 PhD)
of Durham has been named an
RTI International Fellow. Bray leads
the behavioral health education program at RTI
and concentrates his research on the economics
of substance abuse and mental health, and the
economic evaluation of behavioral health
interventions. Erica Carter Ellis (’00 ABJM)
of Raleigh has been promoted to assistant vice
president at BB&T, where she is the financial
center leader at the Wake Forest main branch.
Tift Merritt (’00) of New York released
her third album, Another Country, in February.
The album includes songs written while living
in Paris during a hiatus from touring. Band
members again include drummer Zeke
Hutchins (’00 ABEd) of New York. Merritt
has begun hosting her own radio show, The
Spark, a program of artist-to-artist interviews
recorded at Marfa Public Radio in Texas. In
November 2007, Merritt played in the Bob
Dylan tribute I’m Not There at the Beacon
