The people in Kashmir are caught in the
middle of this political conflict.”
On Dal Lake in Srinagar, the summer
capital of the Indian-held state of Kashmir,
Indian Security Force soldiers patrol the
waters in boats that traditionally were
meant for lovers on their honeymoons.
“There usually is a little man that paddles couples around. It just seems absurd
that soldiers would be there.”
Janet Jarman got a similar sense
of satisfaction from a photo story that
turned into an 11-year project.
