But George Can’t Fire Anybody
The $14 million renovation of
Boshamer Stadium includes a growing trend in athletics naming. Cary
Boshamer ’ 17 keeps his name on the
stadium, but the Tar Heels will play on
Bryson Field, the result of a $3 million
gift from Vaughn and Nancy Bryson, both
1960 graduates; he played baseball here.
Fans will enter Boshamer through the
Steinbrenner Family Courtyard, courtesy
of a $1 million donation from the New
York Yankees owner, who brought his
teams to Chapel Hill for exhibition games
three times while his daughter was a student here.
Does He Have a Building Yet?
Carolina’s most notable geography

Families, whose mission is to “strengthen
families and engage communities,”
endowed by Michael Jordan ’ 86.
