July 19, 2006. Riggins was shop foreman for a

Anthony Shea Jr. (’ 87 MSLS), 49, of Worcester, Mass.; Dec. 7, 2006. Shea was a librarian at
Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Earlier in his career, he held librarian positions at
Williams College and Kenyon College.

Capital, has received a 40 Under 40 Leadership
Award for 2006 from the Triangle Business Journal. Jeffrey Charles Lowrance (’ 88 AB,
’ 97 MA) of Mooresville has been named marketing and public relations director for
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. The
college will be a key resource for retraining of
laid-off Pillowtex workers for jobs in the new
N.C. Research Campus in Kannapolis.
Andrew Todd Trincia (’ 88 ABJO) of Sacra-
mento, Calif., has joined MultiState Associates,
a Virginia-based firm specializing in state government relations, as vice president and head

William Aaron Pizer (’ 90 BSPHY) of
Washington, D.C., a senior fellow at
Resources for the Future, has been awarded
the Petry Research Prize for the Economics
of Climate Change by the Association of
Environmental and Resource Economists.
Pizer shares the award with his co-author,
Richard Newall, for their paper “Discounting
the Distant Future: How Much Do Uncertain Rates Increase Valuations?” published in
the Journal of Environmental Economics and
Management in July 2003.
