Jessie Pittman Sisk (’ 72 BSN, ’ 73 MPH), 83,
of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Jan. 20, 2007.
Sisk, a retired nurse, was an instructor at the
school of nursing at Wilson Memorial Hospital
in North Carolina, professor at Barton College
and director of nursing in several hospitals in
West Virginia and North and South Carolina.
Samuel A. Wilson III (’ 72 AB, ’ 75 JD), 55,
of Charlotte; Jan. 26, 2007. Wilson retired from
private law practice in Charlotte in 2002, specializing in civil litigation. He was a partner in
Thurman Wilson & Boutwell PA. Earlier in his
career, he was a judge on the N.C. Superior
Court. Previously, he was chairman of the state
Parole Commission, legal counsel to the governor, chairman of a political party and in private
practice with the law firm of Walker, Palmer &
Miller.
High School for 20 years and was named
Teacher of the Year. He also was a railroad historian. His photographs appeared in numerous
publications, and he wrote Southern Railway
System 1960-1982. He received numerous
honors from the Lions Club, including Lion of
the Year. A musician, he played the national
anthem at all home high school basketball
games for 15 years. He served with the N.C.
National Guard.
’ 74 Louise Weeks Coggins (’ 74 AB,
’ 80 MSW) of Wilmington has
received the Distinguished Alumni
Award from the UNC School of Social Work,
where she serves as chair of the board of advisers. Coggins is vice chair of Make Way Partners, an international organization combating
human trafficking and sex slavery. Lewis
Horace Myers (’ 74 MBA) of Durham, director of business development for the Freelon
Group, has been named a member of its board
of directors and a shareholder.

Judy Bredeson McInnis (’ 75, ’ 74 PhD), 63,
of Elkton, Md.; Nov. 11, 2006. McInnis was a
professor of Spanish and comparative literature. She served in the Peace Corps in South
America before joining the faculty of the University of Delaware, where she taught for more
than 35 years. Ronald Edward Robinson
(’ 75), 53, of Gibsonville; Feb. 14, 2007. At
UNC, Robinson was a member of the football team and received the ACC Conference
Player award. Harriet Patricia Snipes
(’ 75 MS, ’ 81 MS), 55, of Morganton; Jan. 31,
2007. Snipes was a software engineer with
Agilent. She completed 38 marathons in 31
states. Lacy Carroll Troxler Jr. (’ 75 AB),
54, of Burlington; Dec. 19, 2006. Troxler was
associate pastor of the Burlington Assembly of
God.
’ 73 Jack Vernon Braswell Jr. (’ 73
BSBA) of Winston-Salem, president and CEO of Members
Credit Union since 1991, has been re-elected
to the board of directors, on which he has
served continuously for 27 years. John
Edward Mickey (’ 73 BSBA) of Clemmons, a
principal of Holden Mickey & Mickey Inc.,
has been honored by MassMutual Financial
Group as a leader in production. Michael
Gordon Moran (’ 73 BSBA) of Pinnacle, a
real estate professional with Moran Real
Estate, has been named the 2006 Realtor of
the Year by the Winston-Salem Regional Association of Realtors. Nancy Anne Norman
(’ 73 ABED, ’ 75 MED) of Jamestown, director
of the Children’s Developmental Services
Agency, has been reappointed to the N.C.
Interagency Coordinating Council for Children from Birth to Five with Disabilities and
their Families.

Joseph Philip Adelson (’ 73 PhD), 60, of
Decatur, Ga.; Jan. 11, 2007. Adelson was a psychologist. Waitus Henry Hardin (’ 73
ABJO), 86, of Fayetteville; Jan. 29, 2007.
Hardin retired after 24 years with the Army,
serving in WWII and the Korean War. He was
historian of Fort Bragg and the XVIII Airborne Corps. He owned and operated a locksmith business. M. Dail Hardison Jr. (’ 73
AB), 55, of Wilson; Aug. 29, 2006. Hardison
was a faculty member at Barton College. He
also was a real estate agent. Curtis C.
Tillotson Jr. (’ 73 MAT), 69, of Oxford; Feb.
21, 2007. Tillotson taught at J.F. Webb Senior
