Associate Editor
The UNC General Alumni Association’s award-winning bimonthly magazine, the Carolina Alumni
Review, seeks an Associate Editor as part of the
Association’s seven-member Alumni Publications
Department. The Associate Editor identifies, assigns,
writes and edits stories, with primary responsibility
for news and feature coverage related to the GAA’s
activities, found in the Review’s “GAA Today” section, and for news and feature coverage related to
Carolina alumni. The Associate Editor also helps plan
and produce additional sections of the Review and
researches, writes and edits items for other communication pieces, including the GAA’s e-newsletter
“Out of the Blue” and the GAA’s Web site.
Manager
of Student Programs
The UNC General Alumni Association’s program
team seeks a Manager of Student Programs as part
of our 11-member Programs team.

ALUMNI REVIEW
The Manager of Student Programs supervises the
Coordinator of Student Programs and works to
help all students develop a lifelong relationship
with the General Alumni Association and the
University.

Outstanding writing and editing skills — and clips
that demonstrate them — are required, as are strong
proofreading and computer skills and fluency in AP
style. Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities, creativity and a team orientation are essential. A
strong familiarity with the UNC campus is an asset
in this position. Design knowledge is helpful. The
Associate Editor will have a keen interest in electronic
communications, excellent editorial judgment and the
ability to work quickly, accurately and independently
under deadline pressure while balancing multiple tasks.
This position divides equal time between the management of a 6,000-student membership base with
a 35-member advisory board and all other GAA-sponsored student programs. The position should
have a working knowledge of student development
theory and practical experience working with a
student population.
This position will require some travel, significant
work on weekday evenings
and some weekends. Please
