Alumni in the Legislature
The following 42 Carolina alumni were elected to the N.C.
General Assembly in November. As a result, 32 percent of
state senators ( 16 out of 50) and 22 percent of House
members ( 26 out of 120) are former Carolina students. All
legislators serve two-year terms. The 2007 session of the
General Assembly is scheduled to open Jan. 24.
