Advertising Account R epresentative
The U NC General Alumni Association's award-
winning bimonthly magazine, the Carolina A lumni
Review, seeks an Advertising Account
R epresentative as part of the Association's seven-
member Alumni Publications Departm ent. Primary
responsibilities involve working in a collaborative
environment to manage the Review's advertising
sales and service efforts, accounting for the majori-
ty of the position's overall duties. This position also
has secondary, collaborative responsibilities involv-
ing copyediting and managing material for the
GAA's Web site. Primary duties include maintain-
ing and building relationships and delivering out-
standing customer service; soliciting local, regional
and national advertisers and advertising agencies;
coordinating advertising production with the mag-
azine's design staff; and deve.loping the magazine's
media kit and sales collateral materials. Secondary
duties include reviewing, updating and editing the
GAA's database-driven Web site.
Experience in a sales and/or marketing capacity
involving direct contact with clients is required.
Experience in print media sales, in digital ad proofing
and in working with Q uarkXPress and/or InDesign is
preferred. M eticulous attention to detail is required.
Copyediting eA'Perience is preferred, and experience
with both PC and Mac platforms is preferred. A
strong familiarity with the UN C campus is an asset.
Alumni Education Programmer
The UNC General Alumni Association's program.
teanl currently seeks an AlunuU Education
Programmer as part of our eleven-member Programs
team . Primary responsibilities involve working in a
collaborative environment to manage our multi-
course Carolina College for Lifelong Learning and
other Association alumni education activities. Proven
successful experience with adult education progran1S
is expected. O ther responsibilities include faculty
recruitment and program development for Carolina
Clubs, R eunions, Alumni Travel and general educa-
tion semjnars arising from other Association needs.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding
of the University's academic units.
The alumni education programmer will serve as the
Association's liaison to faculty where ability to
establish credibility and rapport with academic
colleagues will be essential. Experience with
program design and management, partnering with
faculty, on-line learning is desirable. The alumni
education progranuller will be creative in
programming yet possess the appropriate skills to
write well and manage a complex budget. Superior
