Ah, dear old Memorial Hall.
The performance was unforgettable.
The setting was idyllic.
The temperature was 102.
Isaac Stern, Louis Armstrong, Peter,
Paul and Mary, "A Chorus Line" and
hundreds of other great shows and
performers have graced the stage
of Memorial Hall. Coupled with
each memory of those great
performances are the hard seats and
warm temperatures we endured
to watch them.
Now a new day is dawning. Memorial
Hall is about to be transformed. With
your help and that of North Carolina
taxpayers, Memorial is about to get a
$15 million facelift. Improvements
will include air conditioning, new
seats, a new stage, a bigger lobby,
and more restrooms.
The best part is that you can join
the Transformation. Here's how you
1. As part of the campaign to transform
Memorial Hall, we are collecting
stories. You can send your memories by
mail or go to the Memorial Hall web
2. You can put your name on a plaque
affixed to a brand new auditorium
seat. For a gift of $5,000 payable over
five years, you can honor yourself or
3. Or you can make a naming gift to
support the preservation of this beautiful
and beloved campus landmark
