Time stands still at that depot.
There are more pictures to be made there.
"Southern Scenes" began as a personal project to document things that are
disappearing from the South. As development expands and ways of life change, I began
thinking about the scenes and buildings that were so familiar to those of us growing
up in the region and how they are vani hing. Perhaps this would be worth a book, I
thought. In the ensuing years, I have driven the back roads of North Carolina and
southern Virginia for more than 6,000 miles, collecting 83 pictures so far in an ongoing work.
