The Class of ' 66 paid tribute to one of Carolina's
best-known alumni, Thomas Wolfe ' 20. The
sculpted angel can be found between New East
and Davie Hall.
The stone entranceway on the eastern edge of the campus is one of the many gifts scattered around
campus that didn't show up until several years after the class graduated. It finally materialized in 1994.
Visitors to the North Carolina Collection Gallery
in Wilson library sign their names in the guest
book sitting atop this wooden lectern given at the
turn of the 20th century. It originally was used in
Memorial Hall until deemed too fragile.
